His first 3 concert-studies, which Wolfgang Pachla also recorded under the name "Meditations", were first conceived for vibraphone. One can hear his Marimba studies on the LP and the publishers Zimmermann have printed his pedal instructions and a Marimba appendix to the study No.2.
Wolfgang Pachla's prefaces to the 2 volumes of studies and the Marimba-Method for the two-mallet technique, (including preparatory exercises for his studies), and to Paganini's Moto perpetuo and Perpetuum mobile from Ries, which both respectively include specific preparatory exercises. A scan of the prefaces, along with "headings" about his studies, are an important reference for further information.
